BETWEEN THE LINES is the first MeToo-related initiative within the Norwegian art scene. The project was organised as a group exhibition with contributions by 118 artists connected to the Norwegian art scene. A wide spectrum ranging from very established artists to young art students contributed to the project. The exhibition came together as an open call process accepting all contributions invested in raising awareness of the problematic power dynamics still at play in society and its institutions. The works addressed structural issues related to sexism, racism, homophobia, and class conflicts.
«Dinosaur» was performed as an opening speech, addressing issues of power distribution both within the field of visual arts, in interpersonal relationships and in society at large.
BETWEEN THE LINES er norske billedkunstneres første initiativ i tilknytning til MeToo-kampanjen. Prosjektet var organisert som en gruppeutstilling med bidrag fra 118 kunstnere tilknyttet den norske kunstscenen. Blant bidragsyterne fantes både svært etablerte navn og unge kunststudenter. Bidragene var svar på en åpen invitasjon til å sende inn bidrag som tar sikte på bevisstgjøring rundt problematiske uttrykk for maktdynamikk både i samfunnet og i kunstinstitusjonene. Bidragene rettet søkelyset på problemstillinger som sexisme, rasisme, homofobi og klassekonflikt.
«Dinosaur» ble fremført som åpningstale, og adresserer maktistribusjon både i det visuelle kunstfeltet, i mellommenneskelige relasjoner, og i samfunnet generelt.
