The Rake's Progress II

The story of Heier's mother-in-law, actor Tilde Bergamasci, born in Milan in 1921 and raised during Fascism, merges both with Heier's own practice and with recent Italian history until today. Quotes from John Milton and Virginia Woolf among others, as well as pictures from the family's private archive of stage photos and political activism, draw a picture of the passion, the violence, the art, the struggle, the risk and the loss. A spectre is haunting Europe.

Fortellingen om Heiers svigermor, skuespiller Tilde Bergamasci, født i Milano i 1921 og oppvokst under fascismen, flettes sammen både med Heiers egen praksis og med nyere italiensk historie fram til i dag. Tekstfragmenter fra blant andre John Milton og Virginia Woolf, samt bilder og politiske dokumenter fra familiens private arkiv, tegner et bilde av lidenskapen, volden, kunsten, kampen, det man satset og det som gikk tapt.
